After watching this dynamic young forward grow and thrive in our system for the past 4 years the San Jose Sharks are saying goodbye to star forward Ilya Kovalchuk.
We wish him continued success and hope he becomes one of the elite scorers in our league for years to come. It was not our intention to actively pursue a trade but had after much discussion with the Islanders we could not pass up the opportunity to acquire so many great pieces to strengthen our core moving forward.
We expect big things from Ales Hemsky and Ryan Kesler and look forward to further development and grow in the coming years. Being able to add another valuable asset in a 1st round pick next year will improve the foundation of our club and make us a better team moving forward.
